Tee is a Registered Nurse of 23 years, and has been in various roles with Fire and Emergency New Zealand, formerly the New Zealand Fire Service, over the past 18 years. Tee loves working in the medical and trauma emergency management and response space, and loves to bring these experiences to her workshops and training - its 'real life stuff'.

Tee's own childhood experiences of abuse, neglect, poverty, helpless to the ravages of violence in a society that at that time ignored it, or simply accepted it as a form of family control, and as an adult woman, Tee experienced near fatal IPV are why Tee has Magenta Blue Ltd, and is focused on Breaking the Code of Silence
The meaning behind Magenta Blue is a play on words, the colours are representative of her inspiration(s) to start the organisation, and it is also representative of the beacons on our emergency appliances - while we don't want to be the 'ambulance at the bottom of the hill', we acknowledge that it is likely that is where we will start, working our way back up to the top of the cliff, and to safe and secure ground.
Almost 6 months to the day, following the loss of our brother, we lost our beautiful sister the same way. No words can describe how much anguish we still feel.
November 2018 we lost out beloved brother to suicide. This was a devastating loss to our family, a loss that the intervening years have not reduced.

For Tee, the anguish of losing two beloved siblings, was the catalyst to acknowledging the the impact of childhood trauma on herself and her siblings. This acknowledgement required Tee to take steps to understanding the impacts of the intergenerational transmission of trauma, childhood & family violence, sexual violence, and to understand the physio-emotional impact of trauma and stress across the life span through academic study, and working with people affected by violence.
Tee's drive is not just to work with those affected by Domestic Violence /. Family Harm, but to also work with health professionals to improve the health journey for those affected by violence and abuse.
